NAFDAS Architecture
The 5 operational layers of the system.
The Architecture Behind NAFDAS
NAFDAS is built on the Life Safety Systems Networking, Monitoring, and Dispatcher Real-Time Integration (LSSNMDI) framework. The system architecture consists of five operational layers:
- 1. Field Detection Layer: Includes smoke detectors, heat sensors, flame detectors, sprinkler flow switches, and manual call points.
- 2. Control Panel Layer: Local fire alarm control panels aggregate device signals and initiate site-level responses.
- 3. Transmission Layer: Signals are encrypted and transmitted through secure communication channels.
- 4. Central Monitoring Layer: The central dashboard receives alerts in real time. Alerts are logged, geo-mapped, categorized, and prioritized.
- 5. Dispatcher Integration Layer: Automated routing mechanisms notify designated fire service units with precise location data.
